The Wimberley MonoGimbal head is a new monopod head style. It allows you to balance your goal, preventing the flop from the goal. The end result is a portable experience with the added stability of a monopod.

The offset nature of the head relative to a tilting head or kneecap seems to be a problem for handling, panning and maintaining a level horizon. However, in practice, your hands intuitively do all these things without even thinking about it.

The MonoGimbal head changes the case for portability. Offset nature allows easy carrying with the weight of the lens and the camera resting on your back instead of applying all that weight to the monopod that then sinks into your shoulder. In addition, weighing 0.77 lbs, it is a very light and compact unit.

Finally, the MonoGimbal head is able to handle any lens with a rotating collar, the limiting factor being the strength of the monopod.
