APODEMUS - BatCounter Large :

The BatCounter is an electronic device developed for use in field research. The device counts the number of passages of bats, birds or other small animals through the rectangular or square aluminum frame.

 

The aluminum frame of the BatCounter is black anodized for good protection in all weather conditions, making it a robust and reliable partner.

If the BatCounter is used for two days or less, the 8 AA batteries supplied can be used. To use the BatCounter for a longer period of time, the BatCounter can be connected to a 12V battery. The supplied power cable can be used for this purpose.

The BatCounter records the individual bat passages and collects all information on the SD card. The SD card contains the collected data, and can also share this data externally. Standard results and information can be sent by email or SMS at regular intervals. These additional features ensure that information is continuously provided and that you do not need to be physically present at the BatCounter to receive it. In addition, the data traffic ensures that the system is working properly.

The BatCounter can detect bats as they fly and simultaneously control a DSLR camera (Nikon or Canon) with an infrared signal or cable to take pictures of the bats as they fly. The camera cable is not included but can be ordered separately. Email us for the possibilities.
